Terrence Tarver
Tarver Law Firm, P.C.
Mineola,
 NY

From small town to big city and from the Big Easy to the Big Apple, Terrence Tarver has been a successful leader and champion. From his life experiences and lessons, Mr. Tarver has derived skills used to staunchly advocate for his clients from the start of their case to the courtroom, and throughout his career has obtained millions of dollars in results for his clients, including recent $300,000.00 and $500,000.00 settlements and recent $600,000.00 and $4,000,000.00 verdicts.

Clients should understand what separates Mr. Tarver. He truly is a combination of small town Louisiana and big city New York. While his upbringing in Louisiana provides him with a unique perspective and approach vastly different from the overwhelming majority of New York attorneys, his New York education, training, and expertise mesh perfectly to afford clients a disciplined, passionate, and powerful courtroom advocate.

Not only do his results over the years reflect that, but also his accolades do too. In each of the last four years, Mr. Tarver has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star and by The National Trial Lawyers as a Top 40 Trial Attorney Under 40. In 2015, 2016, and 2017, he was recognized by The National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys as a Top 10 Attorney Under 40.

Also in 2017, Mr. Tarver was named by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel to the Nation's Top One Percent. Moreover, Mr. Tarver was recognized in 2016 and 2017 by the National Academy of Jurisprudence as a Premier 100 Trial Attorney in New York and has been elected a Fellow of both the American Bar Foundation and the New York Bar Foundation in 2015 and 2016, respectively.

The foundation for Mr. Tarver?s style and approach was laid years ago and has been carefully cultivated for decades. Growing up, his parents taught him to foster and appreciate discipline, dedication, and hard work. These abstract attributes were highlighted and bolstered over the years through formal education and sports.

Mr. Tarver, a high school valedictorian, was a captain of his high school football team, which won three-straight State Championships and a National Championship. Thereafter, he attended Tulane University in New Orleans on a Division 1, football scholarship, and while there, Mr. Tarver was a four-year letterman, served as a team captain, and was a member of their Hawaii Bowl Championship team.

While attending Tulane, Mr. Tarver was already gaining valuable exposure to, and falling in love with, the law, including personal injury. He graduated with a double major in Finance and Legal Studies, and was fortunate enough to have an internship with a personal injury law firm. That internship was vital as it taught Mr. Tarver that he could help the seriously injured, many of whom where blue collar folks just like his father.

Thereafter, he left New Orleans for New York, where he attended Hofstra Law School. While there, he was a member of their National Trial Team and on Moot Court. He also obtained a Civil Litigation Concentration, taking courses such as Advanced Torts, Advanced Trial Advocacy, Trial Techniques, Pretrial Skills, and Litigation Drafting, to name a few.

During summers, he clerked for a couple of Judges in Queens County, watching and learning from trial attorneys as well as those Judges, and he also worked for a personal injury law firm, learning more about personal injury litigation. After law school, he passed not only the New York bar exam but also the Louisiana bar exam.

Also after law school, he went to work for one of the most prominent and prestigious personal injury law firms in the State of New York. Like a medical doctor who needs a residency after medical school, Mr. Tarver knew that he needed the equivalent after law school, although not required, to hone his skills and learn how to be the best personal injury litigator that he could be.

While at that law firm, Mr. Tarver worked on and handled traumatic and catastrophic, multi-million dollar, personal injury cases from inception through trial that included, among other types of cases, motor vehicle accidents, slip/trip and falls, medical malpractice, and products liability.

Through it all, Mr. Tarver has tried his best to be a champion for his clients using the valuable attributes of discipline, dedication, and hard work that he was taught at a young age in Louisiana while combining his New York education, training, and expertise. Today, in stark contrast to the overwhelming majority of metropolitan, New York City attorneys, Mr. Tarver stands in a unique position to offer his clients a completely different type of advocate, one that offers southern hospitality while at the same time possessing the ability to flip the switch and argue with fervor, passion, and righteous indignation.
