Thomas “Tom” Drazan is passionate about serving clients as a personal injury attorney at Derrick Law Firm Injury Lawyers. Tom, raised near Annapolis, Maryland, is the child of two life-long public educators from whom he learned the value of serving a community.
After arriving in the Lowcountry to attend the College of Charleston in 2005, he knew that he wanted to make South Carolina his home. Tom left the Lowcountry to attend the Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law, promptly returning to Charleston upon graduation.
For the first two years following law school, he worked for a large plaintiff’s firm involved in tobacco, pharmaceutical antitrust, and products liability class action lawsuits. Tom then gained experience at a local defense firm, litigating on behalf of insurance companies for three years. During that time, he litigated in the areas of personal injury, civil rights, fiduciary duty, construction, and a myriad of other cases. Desiring a change in who he served, Tom returned to plaintiffs’ practice to litigate on behalf of individuals and small business owners, not insurance companies.
Tom lives in Charleston and enjoys fly fishing, cooking, and any activity on the water. He is involved in the Neighbors Helping Neighbors Charity that supports the Hollywood community, providing resources for the students of Title 1 schools.
