Thomas M. Moore is the Managing Partner of The Senators (Ret.) Firm, LLP.
Tom's practice is wide-ranging and involves such diverse areas as mass torts, products liability, pharmaceutical and medical device litigation and regulation, consumer fraud class actions, and unfair competition and business practices. Long recognized as one of the country's most prominent complex litigation and products liability attorneys, Tom has managed, litigated, and successfully resolved thousands of cases, including many of the nation's most noteworthy ?mass tort? and class action litigations on behalf of businesses and consumers alike.
Following graduation from The University of California (Davis) law school, Tom joined Los Angeles' Haight, Brown & Bonesteel LLP as an associate and quickly established himself in and outside the courtroom as an effective counselor, litigation manager, and trial attorney. Tom was elevated to the Haight Brown partnership in 1991 and became co-chair of the firm's Life Science Practice Group. In that capacity, he developed and managed a multimillion dollar portfolio of legal services and counseling and represented a number of Fortune 50 corporations in mass tort and complex products liability matters.
In 2001, Tom relocated his burgeoning litigation practice to the prominent national law firm of Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP where he was named head of the Los Angeles office and chair of the Life Sciences Practice Group. While at Drinker, Tom continued to litigate high profile products liability cases and counseled a wide variety of corporate and individual clients in the areas of drug and medical device regulation, product labeling, state and federal regulatory compliance, FDA and FTC investigations, as well as class action litigation involving false advertising, consumer fraud and unfair trade practice claims.
In 2007, Tom co-founded Moore Labriola LLP in Newport Beach, California. At Moore Labriola, Tom focused on aggressively representing consumers injured by defective products, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices and dietary supplements, as well as consumer fraud and other state and nationwide class actions. In just his first year at Moore Labriola, Tom was appointed co-lead counsel in a mass tort action involving hundreds of victims of a defective contact lens solution product. The firm successfully resolved numerous personal injury and class action cases and recovered millions of dollars for its clients prior to its merger with The Senators (Ret.) Firm? in 2010.
Tom has frequently been appointed by statewide complex litigation courts to act as ?liaison? counsel in multi-jurisdiction litigation, including the silicone breast implant, diet drug, and Baycol? litigations. He is the recipient of the prestigious AV? rating from Martindale Hubbell and has for many years been selected to the International Who's Who of Business Lawyers as well as Southern California Super Lawyers in the fields of products liability, mass torts and class actions.
