Stacy was admitted to the NC State Bar in 1994. After interning in the Wake County District Attorney’s office, he began his career as a criminal defense attorney, which gave him the opportunity to try hundreds of cases and get daily experience in the courtroom.
Stacy brings his vast experience in state and federal court to the cases he litigates today and is known for his large community network and likability. What truly sets Stacy apart is his relationships in the community and his connectivity across industries. Known as the friendliest guy in the room, Stacy has served his city and his community in various facets. He previously served as a City Councilman for Raleigh and as a Board member for organizations such Building Together Ministries, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and a committee for Oak Ranch in Sanford, NC. Stacy volunteers judging law student competitions at Campbell University and NC State University and he has dedicated even his professional life to community service through Miller Law Group Gives Back programs. Stacy’s empathy and passion is what allows him to represent his clients with a true dedication to their best interests and attaining long-term support for their needs.
Stacy is committed to fighting for justice for those who have been wronged, regardless of the size or scale. He has represented clients against huge corporations like Wal-Mart, Lowe’s, Rite-Aid and Blue Cross/Blue Shield. He has represented people on death row, and he has been part of multi-million dollar settlements. Stacy regularly represents Whistleblowers in reporting fraud and illegal activity against the government. Stacy has consistently been awarded the highest AV rating by his peers for excellence in the legal profession.
He was the 2008 Vice President of the American Association of Justice’s Professional Negligence Section (2007 Treasurer, and 2006 Newsletter Editor). Stacy has been inducted in The National Trial Lawyers Top 100 Trial Lawyers, and received the Nationally Ranked Top 10 Attorney Award by the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys. Stacy is not afraid to have the odds stacked against him; in fact, he prefers it. A former quarterback at Needham B. Broughton High School and defensive back at Wake Forest University, he is both a team player and a tough competitor. His motto – be unafraid to fail – leads him to innovative strategies for winning. He brings that positive winning attitude to whatever he does for the benefit of his clients.
Stacy is married to his beautiful (and extremely intelligent) wife Blannie and together they are blessed with two boys, Stacy III and Hank. Stacy enjoys the simple things in life like campfires and telling stories, hunting and fishing (especially with his nephews), horseback riding and strumming a guitar. Stacy is passionate about the arts as he has acted in a Motion Picture and is a member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA).
