Zachary Howerton is an associate at Smouse & Mason in all areas of the firm’s practice. Prior to joining the firm, Zach served as a law clerk to the Senior Judges in the Superior Court for the District of Columbia, including the Honorable Truman A. Morrison, III, the Honorable Susan R. Winfield, the Honorable Patricia Wynn, the Honorable A. Franklin Burgess, the Honorable Judith E. Retchin and the Honorable Geoffrey M. Alprin. He earned his J.D. from Vermont Law School, where he was an Articles Editor of the Vermont Law Review and a student clinician at the Environmental and Natural Resources Law Clinic. While attending Vermont Law School, Zach served as a law clerk at Hunsucker Goodstein, PC, a judicial intern to the Honorable Paul L. Friedman in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, and a law clerk in the Environmental Enforcement Section at the U.S. Department of Justice.
