Family Of Woman Thrown From Golf Cart At Houston Livestock Show And Rodeo Files Suit Against Driver, HLSR, Cart Owner And Cart Manufacturer

Posted on August 2, 2013 by Andrew Findley

Houston Law Firm of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Friend Will Host A Press Conference At 2pm On Monday, August 5 To Discuss Recently-Filed Personal Injury Suit

(Houston, TX) On behalf of Yvonne Herndon, her husband and her children, Houston lawyers Benny Agosto, Jr., Daniel D. Horowitz III, and Brant J. Stogner have filed suit seeking full compensation for the serious, life-changing injuries Mrs. Herndon received after being thrown from a golf cart at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo earlier this year.  Mrs. Herndon has been hospitalized and in a coma since the incident on February 25th.

In addition, the Houston personal injury lawyers are seeking full compensation for the injuries sustained by Mr. Herndon in witnessing his wife’s catastrophic injury and on behalf of Mrs. Herndon’s children who have since been robbed of the care and companionship of their mother.

Mrs. Herndon and her husband attended the Toby Keith concert that was put on in conjunction with the 2013 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. After the show ended, the couple utilized the golf cart transportation service to return to their vehicle; Mrs. Herndon was in the front seat with the driver and Mr. Herndon was in the row behind her. The driver, operating on behalf of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, made a sudden, unexpected left turn, ejecting Mrs. Herndon from the cart, head-first onto the pavement of the Reliant Stadium parking lot. Mrs. Herndon suffered a serious closed head injury as a result of the trauma.

The attorneys are seeking to hold the driver, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, the owner and lessee of the golf cart, and the original manufacturers of the golf cart responsible for the errors, omissions, and negligence that caused Mrs. Herndon to suffer a catastrophic head injury.   The subject golf cart lacked basic and common safety features, including seat belts, and proper hand-held restraints to prevent involuntary ejection, which is and has been the leading cause of injury by these products.

The Texas injury law firm of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Friend will be hosting a press conference on Monday, August 5 at 2pm to answer questions regarding the recent filing of a personal injury lawsuit on behalf of a Texas woman who was seriously injured at the Houston Livestock and Rodeo Show. The press conference is open to all media.

The press conference will be held at the firm’s office, located at 800 Commerce Street. For questions regarding the upcoming press conference, please call the firm at 713-587-9668. The personal injury attorneys of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Friend have been protecting injured people and their families throughout Texas for more than 60 years.
