Bruce Lampert is one of our most experienced attorneys in the field of aviation litigation, and a pilot himself, with distinguished experience in air disaster litigation as an aviation safety lawyer. He has represented plane crash victims and their families in many aviation law cases, including:
Mr. Lampert has also obtained published appellate decisions on behalf of aviation accident victims, including a reversal in Sewell v. Public Service Co. of Colorado (Colo. App. 1991) and an affirmance in Old Republic Insurance Co. v. Durango Air Service, Inc. (10th Cir. 2002).
Mr. Lampert earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver College of Law in 1979, where he received the American Jurisprudence Prize in Contracts as well as the American Law Book Prize for most significant contribution toward overall legal scholarship. He also served as a writer for the Denver Law Journal. Upon graduation, Mr. Lampert clerked for United States District Court Judge Hatfield O. Chilson in Colorado for a year.
Prior to law school, Mr. Lampert received his bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado in 1970, where he was active in the Kappa Sigma fraternity, Naval ROTC, and intramural athletics. After graduating with honors, Mr. Lampert attended Naval Flight School in Pensacola, Florida. He was then assigned as an intelligence officer with a Navy F-4 fighter squadron for two cruises to Southeast Asia aboard the U.S.S. Coral Sea (CVA-43).
Dedicated to aviation safety, Mr. Lampert is a frequent lecturer at educational institutions, has authored many articles on aviation law, and is a speaker at seminars on trial tactics, mass-disaster litigation, and complex product liability cases. In addition to membership in the American Association for Justice (f/k/a ATLA), Mr. Lampert has served in a leadership role on the governing board of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association.
Mr. Lampert holds single-engine, multi-engine, and instrument airplane ratings, and he and his colleagues use the firm's Beechcraft Baron 58P to travel to courts and clients nationwide.
Mr. Lampert is licensed to practice law in Colorado and Michigan, in both state and federal court.
