Jim Nugent, Board Certified, Trial Lawyer. Welcome to The Law Firm of Nugent & Bryant. For over 35 years, we have represented people who have experienced serious personal injury or the wrongful death of a family member. We fight for justice for our clients in all State and Federal Courts throughout Connecticut.
Jim Nugent is lead trial counsel for The Law Firm of Nugent & Bryant on cases which involve serious personal injury and wrongful death. Jim invests tremendous time, energy, and resources in every one of his cases. Jim gets to know each and every one of his clients extremely well. He takes the time to meet with his clients and to listen to them—really listen to them.
Jim uses innovative techniques which allow him to get to know his clients' stories—their lives, their injuries, their personhood—from start to finish. This, in turn, allows Jim to tell the jury the truth of his clients' story in a straightforward and honest way.
Jim Nugent is Board Certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy (www.nbtanet.org). Jim has been continuously Board Certified since 1998. He has tried in excess of 100 cases, fighting for the justice his clients deserve.

Referrals from other attorneys are welcomed. Many of our cases are a result of referrals from other attorneys. There is absolutely no additional attorney fee cost to the client when we are referred a case.
Referring attorneys are provided options. One option is to ask us to co-counsel the case with them. This allows the referring attorney to remain involved in all aspects of the handling of the case—from investigation, retaining of experts, meetings with clients and witnesses, developing and discussing strategies, to the actual conducting of the trial itself.
A second option is to simply refer the case to us and we will handle the entire case from that point forward. At the conclusion of our representation, we make certain the client contacts the referring attorney for all future legal services. We pay reasonable referral fees to referring attorneys in accordance with the Ethical Rules in effect in the State of Connecticut.
