Mayes Telles, PLLC
Phoenix,
 AZ

Melissa Baugh is a dedicated criminal defense attorney who has built her career representing individuals accused of crimes in Arizona. Melissa earned her law degree from the Sandra Day O’ Connor College of Law. From the beginning of her legal career, Melissa has focused exclusively on criminal defense. With this specialized focus, Melissa brings experience, strategic advocacy, and a deep understanding of the criminal justice system to every case she handles. She represents individuals accused of a wide range of offenses, including misdemeanors and serious felony charges.

Melissa understands that facing criminal charges can be overwhelming and stressful. Every case represents a person whose future may be at stake. Therefore, she takes the time to listen to her clients, explain the legal process, and develop defense strategies tailored to each individual case. Melissa’s clients value her commitment to being responsive, honest, and dedicated to protecting their rights.

While some defense attorneys focus primarily on negotiating plea agreements, Melissa understands that being ready and willing to take a case to trial before a judge or jury can make a significant difference in the outcome of a case. Melissa is not afraid to set cases for trial when it is in her client’s best interest. She believes that strong advocacy includes challenging the prosecution’s case and holding the government to its burden of proof.

Melissa is bilingual and fluent in Spanish, allowing her to communicate directly with Spanish-speaking clients and their families. Clear communication is essential when navigating the criminal justice system, and Melissa is committed to ensuring that all clients fully understand their rights and legal options.
