Mr. Sevillano has been a practicing trial attorney for over 14 years. For the last decade, he has concentrated his efforts on helping those who have been seriously injured. He has handled a wide range of personal injury and wrongful death matters including car and truck accidents, pedestrian accidents, railroad injuries including FELA claims, premises liability, complex medical malpractice claims and defective products claims.
An accomplished litigator, Mr. Sevillano has extensive trial experience in both the State and Federal Courts in Connecticut. Over the years, he has handled over a thousand personal injury claims and has represented clients in over fifty jury trials, successfully securing over $20 million dollars in settlements and verdicts for his clients. His strength lies in his ability to present complex cases to a jury in a clear and straightforward manner while utilizing cutting edge courtroom technology.
Above all, Mr. Sevillano believes each of his clients deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. He understands that recovery from a catastrophic injury is both physically and emotionally challenging and the prospect of entering the legal system may seem daunting. He aims to make the process as manageable as possible for his clients. He truly enjoys helping people and considers this to be his primary role as an attorney. Fluent in both Spanish and Portuguese, Mr. Sevillano takes particular pride in representing clients for whom English is not a first language.
Mr. Sevillano has extensive experience representing clients and their families who have suffered serious personal injuries or wrongful deaths. He has secured settlements and jury verdicts for clients who have been injured in car and truck accidents, pedestrian accidents, railroad accidents, construction accidents, accidents due to unsafe premises or highway defects. He has represented injured railroad employees in Federal Employers' Liability Act (FELA) claims against the railroad as well as in regular negligence claims against railroads. In addition, he has successfully handled cases against drunk drivers and has attained vast knowledge in the area of liquor liability claims under the Connecticut Dram Shop Act. Mr. Sevillano has also prosecuted cases against large drug manufacturers who have produced drugs which have caused permanent life altering injuries and death.
Mr. Sevillano has been recognized for his trial excellence. He was awarded the honor of being named a Board Certified Civil Litigator having successfully completed the requirements of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy for civil litigation. He is also a member of American Association for Justice and the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association.
After receiving his bachelor's degree from the University of Connecticut in 1995, Mr. Sevillano attended Quinnipiac University School of Law, graduating in 1998. Directly after law school, he served the state as a public defender and further honed his trial advocacy skills as a criminal defense attorney before choosing to concentrate his practice on personal injury law. He is a member of the Bridgeport and Connecticut Bar Associations.
Mr. Sevillano lives in Shelton with his wife and three very active sons. A lifelong soccer fan and player, continues to play the sport he loves, even to this day. However, he has now mostly passed the torch to his boys and is the Recreational Director for the boys soccer program at the Shelton Youth Soccer Organization.
