Amanda L. McCleney received a Bachelor of Science, summa cum laude, from Troy University (2007), and a Masters of Criminal Justice from Troy University (2009). She earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Alabama School of Law (2015). While at law school, Amanda participated in the Community Development Clinic and Mediation Clinic. During the Community Development Clinic, she assisted in the organization of non-profit corporations. As a member of the Mediation Clinic , Amanda mediated a variety of cases in the Tuscaloosa County Domestic Relations Court. By demonstrating a strong commitment to social justice, she earned the Certificate of Public Interest Law. She also received the Dean’s Community Service Award and the 2015 Balch & Bingham L.L.P. Prior to joining Higgs & Emerson, Amanda practiced corporate defense law and consumer bankruptcy. Amanda joined the firm as an associate in 2017.
