Bio
Betsy Greene decided she was going to be a lawyer when she was nine years old and never wavered from that decision. She worked her way through law school at Indiana University Maurer School of Law and was admitted to the Indiana bar on October 15, 1982.
Betsy started her legal career as a deputy prosecutor in Morgan County and worked her way up to the office of Chief Deputy Prosecutor. As Deputy Prosecutor, she found she had a passion for helping those who had been wronged, victimized, or abused by others, so the transition to personal injury trial work was an obvious choice. Betsy has since dedicated her career to helping individuals who were carelessly hurt or killed by others. She began practicing injury law at Nunn & Kelley Law Office in 1988 and quickly became a partner. In 2005 Betsy started her own firm with partner, Fred Schultz, and Greene & Schultz was born.
As an injury attorney, Betsy takes pride in giving every case individualized attention and using her experience to help clients navigate their way through tough times. She has tried over 100 jury trials in her career. She is known to the insurance industry as a top trial attorney who has the skill and the experience to fight for her clients.
Betsy continues to improve her trial skills and to teach other lawyers those same skills by attending and teaching seminars and training sessions across the country. In August, 2005, Betsy graduated from the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College, an intensive three-week course in trial advocacy conducted at Thunderhead Ranch in Dubois, Wyoming. She was invited to join the faculty in 2010.
Betsy teaches trial skills at Trial Lawyers College seminars at the flagship location in Wyoming and at Regional seminars throughout the across the country. She has also written for and spoken at a number of Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum and Indiana Trial Lawyers Association seminars. Betsy is past president of: Indiana Trial Lawyers Association, American Board of Trial Advocates, Indiana Chapter, F Warrior Board, and the Monroe County Bar Association. She also served on the Board of Directors of Gerry Spence's Trial Lawyers College.
Betsy currently serves as an Emeritus Director ITLA Board of Directors, represents Indiana on the AAJ Board of Governors, on the Melvin Belli Society Board of Directors, and on the Monroe County Indiana Public Defender Board.
