Christos Lagos is a seasoned and accomplished trial lawyer with an exceptional track record of success handling high profile litigation.

Christos Lagos has been the co-managing partner of Lagos & Priovolos PLLC since 2014 when he and John Priovolos formed the firm. Mr. Lagos, who has over 20 years of legal experience, heads the firm's civil litigation division. His primary focus is on claims that involve substantial losses arising out of construction negligence, unsafe premises, automobile and trucking accidents, medical malpractice, wrongful death, negligence, defective products, insurance claims, and other civil disputes.

Mr. Lagos is a seasoned and accomplished trial lawyer with an exceptional track record of success handling high profile litigation. His experience as lead counsel in numerous jury trials has proven invaluable in the guidance and expertise he offers his clients. He has obtained several multi-million dollar settlements, judgments, and jury verdicts and is a standing member of both the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. In total, Mr. Lagos has helped recover over $150 Million for those whose lives have been harmed by the wrongdoing of others.

Legal Experience

In 1998, Christos Lagos began his legal career as a prosecutor in Miami. He handled hundreds of cases ranging from traffic fatalities to life felonies. He conducted hearings, prepared witnesses for trial, selected juries, conducted opening statements, examined witnesses, and delivered closing arguments. He spent hours each day in court either handling hearings or on trial. With a solid foundation in trial advocacy, Mr. Lagos entered private practice in 2001 and turned his attention to civil litigation.

Over the last 19 years, Mr. Lagos has successfully litigated against insurance companies, construction and engineering firms, major consumer product and automobile manufacturers, property owners, health care providers, trucking and transportation companies, and other entities and corporations. Throughout his career, Mr. Lagos has handled several notable landmark cases. Notably, Mr. Lagos filed the first wrongful death lawsuit for the tragic bridge collapse that occurred at Florida International University. Twenty personal injury and wrongful death cases were consolidated against twenty-eight defendants involving over 100 lawyers. Mr. Lagos served as Liaison Counsel and was a lead attorney in this consolidated action. On behalf of all plaintiffs' counsel, Mr. Lagos conducted numerous presentations and led global settlement negotiations resulting in the creation of a trust for the benefit of the bridge collapse victims in the amount of $102.75 Million from twenty-five defendants.

Christos Lagos has conducted several speaking engagements to practicing attorneys and law students. Mr. Lagos has lectured in Continuing Legal Education seminars to practicing attorneys on topics that include: "Personal Injury", "Expert Witness Retention and Discovery”, "Deposition Strategies", “Motion Argument”, “Evidentiary Hearings”, “Mediation”, “Heading to Trial”, “Selecting and Dealing with Your Jury”, “Trial Presentation", "Class Actions and Multidistrict Litigation", and "Legal Ethics". He contributed to the "Preparing and Trying the Cardiovascular Case" American Association For Justice Litigation Packet. Mr. Lagos has guest lectured to law students in Litigation Skills courses and he has judged litigation skills activities at the law schools of St. Thomas University, Florida International University, and the University of Miami.

Mr. Lagos hosted a weekly local radio call-in talk show addressing legal topics and conducted interviews with prominent local jurists. He also participates in community service, charitable functions, and pro bono activities. He has volunteered at a local domestic violence shelter and has volunteered and sponsored charitable events at Chapman Partnership for the homeless. He has conducted Law Day presentations to elementary students. Mr. Lagos has also volunteered his services as an Attorney Guardian ad Litem on behalf of minor children.
