Biography
Dustin Collier grew up in a working-class family, the second to graduate from college. The first in his family to attend graduate school of any kind, Mr. Collier brought a passion and understanding for the plight of American workers to law school with him. Throughout his Education at Berkeley Law, he emphasized his studies on workers' rights, trial and appellate advocacy, and constitutional law.
Mr. Collier clerked at Beeson, Tayer, & Bodine, P.C., a law firm specializing in traditional labor law and representation of low-wage workers and/or their Unions. He later joined Beeson, Tayer, & Bodine as an associate, continuing in this post until opening Collier Law Firm in the Spring of 2011.
Mr. Collier serves as a trial and deposition skills instructor for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA), a world renowned organization that conducts trial skills seminars throughout the United States (see www.nita.org). Mr. Collier has served as a faculty member at NITA programs in San Diego, Berkeley, San Jose, San Francisco, Seattle, and the Navajo Nation, training thousands of attorneys on how to effectively conduct depositions and trials.
He also teaches with the Intensive Advocacy Program at University of San Francisco, judges moot court competitions for Berkeley Law moot court program, judges trial competitions for the American Bar Association, and serves as a trial consultant and jury consultant with an emphasis on employment litigation. Mr. Collier also sits on the planning committee for the California Employment Lawyers Association's Annual Trial College, where he also serves as a lead trainer and lecturer on the art of persuasion.
In the past two years, Mr. Collier has secured more than 25 million dollars in judgments and settlements on behalf of his clients. Mr. Collier handles civil matters through all stages and forms of litigation, from demand letters to mediations, from arbitrations to jury trials, and everything in between. Mr. Collier is often contracted in by other attorneys to serve as lead trial counsel.
