Harvin Pitch is a partner at Teplitsky, Colson LLP. He was called to the Bar in 1970 and has practised civil litigation ever since. He holds an LLM from Harvard Law School. He is the author of a text “Damages for Breach of Contract” published by Carswell in a three ring loose leaf and is updated quarterly.
Harvin Pitch has lectured for the Canadian Institute, Canadian Bar Association (Ontario), Osgoode, Law Society and the Advocates Society. He was an instructor in the Bar Admission Course (civil litigation for 10 years).
His practice is primarily in the area of commercial litigation, class actions and torts.
With respect to class actions, he has been involved in the Hepatitis C class action and recently in the Sunrise Propane Explosion as one of the lead counsel for the plaintiffs. With respect to torts, he acted for plaintiffs who were sexually abused at the Maple Leaf Gardens in 1999 and again in 2009 when new cases came to light.
He has practised before all of the courts in Ontario.
In addition he is an expert in commercial litigation with emphasis on real estate litigation.
