Mr. Stranch practices in the areas of complex litigation (including, securities, class actions, antitrust, shareholder derivative actions, and ERISA 401k litigation), personal injury, Labor and employment, and oversees the Firm's mass tort docket. He is the partner in charge of the Class Action, Complex Litigation and Mass Tort practice group in the firm. Mr. Stranch has served as lead counsel for the firm in numerous cases including In re: Alpha Corp. Securities Litigation ($161 million settlement in a securities fraud suit), Lankford v. Dow Chemical ($4.2 million settlement in a nationwide consumer protection class action). He served on the Executive Committee in Dahl v. Bain Capital Partners ($590.5 million settlement). He has served as Liaison Counsel in In Re: Regions Morgan Keegan Closed?End Fund Litigation ($62 million settlement). Mr. Stranch has also handled multiple voting rights issues and ballot access cases, including successfully defending the Democratic National Committee in a lawsuit which sought to keep President Obama off the Tennessee ballot. Mr. Stranch is currently on the Plaintiff Steering Committee for the In re: New England Compounding Pharmacy, Inc. Products Liability Litigation MDL and is the lawyer in charge of coordinating all litigation arising in Tennessee. To date over $225 million in settlements have been obtained on behalf of the victims of New England Compounding Pharmacy. He was also recently appointed to the Steering Committee of In re Volkswagen Clean Diesel Marketing, Sales Practices and Products Liability Litigation. A partial settlement has been reached for the 2.0L engine cars that is valued at over $10 Billion. Litigation is continuing over the 3.0L engine cars and against Bosch. At the age of 15, Mr. Stranch won the prestigious Congress- Bundestag Scholarship, which provides a full year of study in Germany. Mr. Stranch maintains his fluency in German and has used it in the prosecution of cases. Mr. Stranch graduated from Emory University undergrad and received his law degree from Vanderbilt University School Law School. In addition to clerking for the Firm during law school, Mr. Stranch interned at the Juvenile Public Defender's office in Nashville and helped protect the rights of Tennessee children under the Bryan A. settlement at the Vanderbilt University Juvenile Practice Clinic. Mr. Stranch is an adjunct professor at Vanderbilt University School of Law teaching a seminar on the practice of civil litigation. He has been and is currently listed as one of the Top 40 Under 40 by the National Trial Lawyers Association, and as a MidSouth Rising Star from 2009-2015 by the Super Lawyers.
