Founding attorney Jim Golden has a unique background that differs from most attorneys. Before practicing law, Jim was a firefighter and paramedic. In 2011, his commitment to public safety resulted in Jim being recognized as Instructor of the Year for the state of Alabama.
Before leaving to pursue a career as a family law attorney, Jim served for over 5 years as the Fire Chief of the Alabaster Fire Department.
Jim graduated with honors from the Birmingham School of Law and is passionate about helping families with their legal issues. Jim is an ardent defender of individuals charged with criminal offenses and believes everyone deserves a strong defense.
With Jim’s unique professional background, he is able to develop unique defense strategies and advocate for the best interests of parents and children involved in DHR cases. Jim is a certified Guardian ad Litem, a member of the Alabama Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the Shelby County Bar Association, the Birmingham Bar Association, St. Clair County Bar Associate and National College for DUI Defense.
