Jean Humbrecht is the founding attorney at Humbrecht Law, P.L.L.C. Focusing her practice exclusively on criminal and traffic defense, Ms. Humbrecht defends adults and juveniles charged with misdemeanors and felonies throughout Northern Virginia. Ms. Humbrecht handles cases in the General District Courts, Juvenile and Domestic Relations Courts, Circuit Courts, appeals from the General District to Circuit Courts, and Federal Court. She obtained her LL.M. in Litigation from The George Washington University Law School and her J.D. from Ave Maria School of Law.

Ms. Humbrecht also is the Town Prosecutor for the Town of Occoquan in Prince William County, Virginia. 

She is a member of the Virginia State Bar, Prince William County Bar, and is admitted to practice law in all of the Virginia state courts as well as the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. 

She is actively involved in many local community and business organizations, including serving on many boards of directors for both legal and non-profit groups, and multiple local Toastmasters clubs.

Ms. Humbrecht has been described by her peers as a “kind, thoughtful, and compassionate attorney,” a “thorough and zealous advocate,” “talented in the courtroom,” “committed, conscientious, and ethical” and “well-respected.”

Ms. Humbrecht is also an author and has published her first book, "More Than A Fine: The True Cost of Speeding in Virginia," which discusses the often unknown consequences of speeding ticket convictions in Virginia.

She also frequently speaks at CLEs and other events about a variety of topics, both legal and non-legal.  

Ms. Humbrecht is nominated for Prince William County's Influential Women of 2025 by Prince William Living magazine, she won the Reader's Choice Award from Prince William Times for 2nd Best Attorney in Prince William County in 2024. Additionally, she was nominated for Best Attorney in Prince William County from 2020-2024, Best Author in Prince William County in 2023 and 2024, the Excellence in Small Business Award by the Prince William Chamber of Commerce in 2022, she was recognized as one of the Top Lawyers in Virginia by Richmond Magazine's Rising Stars in 2021, was selected as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers from 2017-2025, as well as recognized as one of the 10 Best Attorneys for Exceptional and Outstanding Client Service by the American Institute of Criminal Law Attorneys in 2019.

In her spare time, she enjoys high intensity interval training, seeing live bands, pub trivia, is an avid professional wrestling fan, and is currently teaching herself Spanish and how to play the guitar.
