Jonny Ortwein is a part of Mansell & Engel, P.C. in Oklahoma City, a firm dedicated to representing policyholders against their insurance companies when policy benefits are wrongfully denied or substantially underpaid. Prior to joining Mansell & Engel, Jonny spent nearly a decade in personal injury and civil rights law, having tried cases for injured people against those who've hurt them in Oklahoma and Federal Courts. Jonny has handled car wrecks, large truck wrecks, and taken on national and multi-national corporations and large insurance companies who refuse to accept responsibility for the injuries they've caused. Jonny has helped clients obtain millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements and has more trial experience than many young lawyers in Oklahoma. In 2022, Jonny was selected by the National Association of Personal Injury Attorneys as one of their National Ranked Top 10 Under 40 personal injury lawyers. Then in 2023, Jonny was selected as one of the Top 40 Under 40 Civil Trial Lawyers in Oklahoma by The National Trial Lawyers. Jonny is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts for the State of Oklahoma as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
Jonny is originally from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2010 and received his Juris Doctorate from OU in 2014. During law school, Jonny twice represented the University of Oklahoma College of Law nationally in the American Association for Justice’s national mock trial competition – a competition focused on representing people who have been wronged, injured, or damaged by the actions of others. Jonny was also selected as a member of the Order of Solicitors, an award provided to students excelling in oral argument and trial skills. Jonny’s goal was always to become an active litigator fighting for those who need someone to stand up for them to level the playing field. He is currently a member of the Oklahoma County Bar Association, Oklahoma Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, the Oklahoma Association for Justice, The National Trial Lawyers, and the American Association for Justice.
In his free time, Jonny enjoys spending time with his wife, Alicia, and their two English Bulldogs, Buddy and Hemi. Jonny enjoys watching OU football and softball, traveling and spending time at Lake Texoma every chance he gets.
