Jonathan Winocour
Winocour Law
Dallas,
 TX

Jonathan Winocour represents individuals who have been injured or harmed, providing legal representation, guidance, and support during some of the most difficult times in their lives. With a calm, deliberate approach and a strong focus on courtroom preparation, Mr. Winocour handles complex civil and constitutional cases in both state and federal courts across Texas.

Attorney Winocour is a fourth-generation Texas attorney, part of a family tradition of practicing law in the state since 1889. A belief in discipline and fairness shaped his path into litigation, and those same values continue to define his work today.

He began his academic journey at the University of York in the United Kingdom, where he studied English Literature and Philosophy. After moving back to Texas, he earned his J.D. from Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law, where he was a Dean’s List student and worked in the Criminal Justice Clinic, helping indigent clients.

Following law school, Mr. Winocour clerked for trial lawyers and judges, including the Honorable Craig Smith of Dallas County’s 192nd District Court. Those early experiences sharpened his understanding of trial preparation, courtroom dynamics, and the responsibility that comes with representing individuals in conflict with larger institutions.

Over more than two decades of practice, Jonathan Winocour has represented clients in a wide range of serious matters, including:

  • Catastrophic injury and traumatic brain injury cases
  • Dram shop liability cases involving over-service of alcohol
  • Wrongful death claims involving commercial vehicles and workplace incidents
  • Personal injury claims for truck accidents, fall injuries due to negligence, dog bites, and other significant injury cases
  • Class action lawsuits in state and federal courts
  • Civil rights claims, including police misconduct and violations of constitutional protections

His practice spans personal injury law and constitutional litigation. With these cases, the stakes are high, the facts are often complex, and the consequences are deeply personal.

Mr. Winocour approaches every case with the mindset that it may ultimately go to trial. This preparation-first strategy allows him to gain a clear understanding of the facts early on, gathering evidence and testimony that give the case structure and direction. Such thorough attention and care provide clients with reassurance and steadiness during difficult times.

Rather than rushing toward quick resolutions, Jonathan takes the time to learn each client’s situation and understand how their experience has impacted their lives. This deeper insight helps guide how the case is built and how the story is told in court or across the negotiating table.

Through the years, peers and national legal organizations have recognized Jonathan’s work. He has been selected as a Top 100 Trial Lawyer by The National Trial Lawyers and maintains high client ratings for his responsiveness and clear communication.
