Joseph Malouf was born and raised in a rural West Texas town. His friends and family know him as "Joe" or "Joey". He attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he played football and attended pharmacy school. While in pharmacy school, Joseph was elected class president; a member of the Dean's Advisory Board, and served as president of the Longhorn Pharmaceutical Association. Joseph graduated from the University of Texas College of Pharmacy in 1984 with multiple accolades. Joseph received the Sheftal Award for Outstanding Pharmacy Student ; The American Pharmaceutical Association Award for Outstanding Student Member; Searle Scholarship Award; and Longhorn Pharmaceutical Association Leadership Award. After graduation, Joseph practiced as a pharmacist for several years and was awarded Outstanding Young Pharmacist of the Year by the Texas Pharmaceutical Association. As a pharmacist, Joseph became involved in state and national pharmacy political efforts. After lobbying in Washington on behalf of the Texas Pharmaceutical Association, Joseph felt a calling to become an attorney to help those who could not help themselves.
In 1988, Joseph attended Texas Tech University School of Law. While attending Texas Tech, he was an active member of the Volunteer Student Law Association, Delta Theta Phi Legal Fraternity, Board of Barristers, and served as Vice President of Trial Advocacy. Upon graduation from law school, Joseph was hired by a Houston law firm to litigate personal injury cases dealing with health care liability, wrongful death, 18-wheeler accidents, premises liability and products liability. Joseph started his own law firm over 30 years ago, representing injured parties against multi-million dollar insurance corporations and their insureds.
Joseph Malouf has accumulated 32 years of personal injury trial work. Throughout his career, Joseph has represented thousands of clients and has recovered millions of dollars in complex civil and personal injury litigation cases which include wrongful death, medical malpractice, pharmaceutical liability, professional negligence, premises liability, product liability, maritime injuries, nursing home negligence, workplace injuries, 18-wheeler accidents, deceptive trade practices, insurance bad faith, commercial litigation, real estate litigation, probate litigation, and contractual disputes. Joseph is a certified guardian ad litem and an attorney ad litem. In addition to practicing law, Joseph has always had a passion for sports and was once a certified NFL and NBA sports agent. In addition to representing professional football and basketball players, Joseph has represented several members of the United States Men's Olympic Gymnastics Team. His fondness for athletic competition also fuels his passion for coaching and developing young athletes. For the past 2 decades, Joseph has coached football and track & field at the middle and high school levels. He is certified as a United States Track & Field Level II coach. He specializes as a sprint, hurdles and relay coach at St. Thomas High School, where his team has won multiple state track and field championships.
Joseph is married and has four children. His daily reminder comes from the book of Isaiah 1:17 – "Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow."
