Karl Long represents people who have been catastrophically injured and families that have lost loved ones in accidents. His practice is wide-ranging – cases he works on include plant explosions, construction incidents, commercial vehicle accidents, oilfield injuries, automotive products liability and DRAM shop incidents involving the overservice of alcohol. Since re-joining the firm in 2019, Karl has helped secure in excess of $300 million in verdicts and settlements for his clients.
Karl graduated from South Texas College of Law – Houston in 2009 with honors. His first job following law school was at Abraham Watkins – where he worked for two years as a contract attorney to firm partner Mo Aziz. He then worked as an associate at a boutique defense firm that specializes in product liability and premises liability lawsuits involving tire manufacturers and retailers. Seven years later, he returned to Abraham Watkins and puts to use, on a daily basis, the knowledge and insight he gained as to how defendants think and approach lawsuits.
Karl’s fifteen years as an attorney are almost evenly split between representing plaintiffs and defendants, which has allowed him to work with and against many attorneys who have recognized him as a Best Lawyer, Super Lawyer and inducted him as a Fellow in the Texas Bar Foundation.
