Kitty Szeto is a Senior Counsel and one of the firm’s preeminent trial lawyers. Prior to joining Blair & Ramirez, Kitty was a Partner at a prominent plaintiffs’ firm, specializing in wage-and-hour and consumer class actions. With over 15 years of experience, Kitty is a relentless champion for justice and has obtained multi-million dollar jury verdicts and settlements for thousands of employees in California. She has dedicated her entire career to protecting the rights of employees through individual, class, and PAGA actions. Her practice areas include wage theft, sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and termination.
In 2014, Kitty obtained California’s second-largest million-dollar fraud verdict. She was named Trial Lawyer of the Year for the Antelope Valley Bar Association that same year. Kitty was also named one of the Top 100 Women Lawyers by the Daily Journal in 2024. Kitty has also been selected as a Super Lawyers Top Women Attorney in Southern California and a Southern California Rising Star from 2016 to 2018. Kitty has been on the Super Lawyers in Southern California list from 2023-2024.
For more than 10 years, Kitty has been an invited speaker at numerous legal organizations, including Consumer Attorneys of California, Trial Lawyers University, Bridgeport Continuing Education, and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association. She has spoken on topics ranging from cognitive science and behavioral economics in the courtroom to combating gender bias in the legal profession. Kitty also served as the first Deputy Mayor for the City of Lancaster.
As a first-generation immigrant, Kitty was born in Hong Kong, and Cantonese was her first language. Kitty obtained her Juris Doctorate at Loyola Law School in California and her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Minor in Political Science from USC. Kitty is also a graduate of the Gerry Spence Method in Wyoming, Class of July 2023. Kitty is licensed to practice before all courts in the State of California, all United States District Courts in California, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
