Leigh King Forstman is the Founding Member of King Forstman Law LLC in Birmingham. She was inducted as a 2018 Fellow of the Birmingham Bar Foundation and recognized as one of B-Metro’s Top Flight Attorneys 2019 and Top Women Lawyers 2019. Ms. Forstman was previously selected for the Martindale-Hubbell® Bar Register of Preeminent Women Lawyers in the field of Civil Trial Practice based on her AV Preeminent® Rating, the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards. She was also recognized among the Top 100 Trial Lawyers by The National Trial Lawyers, The Best Lawyers in America© for Product Liability Litigation, Personal Injury Litigation and Medical Malpractice Law – Plaintiffs (2020); America’s Top 100 Attorneys® (Alabama) Lifetime Achievement Award, America’s Top 100 High Stakes Litigators®, and 10 Best Attorneys for Alabama for Client Satisfaction from the American Institute of Personal Injury Attorneys. In 2007 Ms. Forstman was inducted as a Charter Fellow and is now a Senior Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, a national trial lawyer honorary society recognizing effectiveness and accomplishment in litigation and superior ethical reputation. Ms. Forstman lectures and publishes nationally and regionally on topics related to her roles as an attorney and a champion of nonprofits. She obtained her B.A. in 1987 from Auburn University in Pre-Law and Russian and her J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1990 where she was a member of the Bench and Bar Honor Society and Vice-Chairperson of the John A. Campbell Moot Court Board. She is admitted to practice law in Alabama and Tennessee, and handles a vast array of tort claims on behalf of individuals and small businesses. She is Founding Chair of the Women’s Caucus of the Alabama Association for Justice, founded in 2002, served two terms on the Board of the Alabama State Bar Women’s Section, and is a Past Chair of the Women Lawyers Section of the Birmingham Bar Association. Ms. Forstman is a Past President of the Junior League of Birmingham, a Past President of Network Birmingham, board member of Leadership Vestavia Hills (Class of 2019) and Members Council Representative of Leadership Birmingham (Class of 2003), and Co-Chair of the Trustees of Canterbury United Methodist Church.
