Tod Melton focuses his trial practice on medical malpractice, wrongful death and serious personal injury litigation in northern and central Illinois and eastern Iowa. He has achieved multi-million dollar jury verdicts in multiple counties. Prior to 1998, Mr. Melton represented defendants in product liability cases, construction accident cases and motor vehicle collision cases, throughout the northern half of Illinois. Mr. Melton also has substantial experience in business litigation and insurance coverage disputes. He is licensed in Illinois, Iowa and Mississippi and has handled numerous trials and appeals.
Mr. Melton served 10 years on the Board of Managers of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, followed by nine years on the Illinois Supreme Court Committee on Jury Instructions in Civil Cases. He is currently serving two accredited Non-Governmental Organizations (Carmelite NGO and NGO Committee to Stop Trafficking in Persons) which have consultative status with the United Nations on international human trafficking policy.
