Mark A. English was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. He then attended Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, where he received his Juris Doctor in 2015.
While in law school, he distinguished himself academically and professionally, earning Dean’s List honors and receiving the Matt McLain Peer Scholarship. He served as a member of and was published in the American Journal of Trial Advocacy. Mark also demonstrated leadership as a class representative and later as treasurer of the Student Bar Association.
In addition, Mark gained extensive practical experience through clerkships with the Office of the Attorney General for the State of Alabama, the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office, and a personal injury law firm. He was admitted to practice law in Alabama in April 2016.
Mark received recognition as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2023 and 2024, and was named to the National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 for four consecutive years (2021-2024). He is a member of the American Bar Association, American Association for Justice, and Alabama Association for Justice (Emerging Leaders section).
