Michael F. Kelly is a partner with the Hollingsworth Kelly Law Firm, which he joined in April of 2009. His practice is entirely devoted to personal injury, including medical malpractice and wrongful death cases, with an emphasis on litigation. Michael is a Certified Specialist in Injury and Wrongful Death Litigation by the State Bar of Arizona.
Since becoming a member of the Arizona State Bar in 2004, he has tried more than 100 jury trials, including homicide prosecutions, wrongful death, medical malpractice, and traumatic death injury cases. Since joining the firm, the jury verdicts Michael and Louis Hollingsworth have obtained together have exceeded $8,500,000. He is a frequent lecturer and guest speaker throughout the state of Arizona on a variety of topics related to trial techniques, strategies and methods. His courtroom successes enabled him to become Certified in Injury and Wrongful Death Litigation by the State Bar at only 35 years of age.
Michael is committed to using his litigation experience to work for injured plaintiffs. “Representing people who are injured as a result of another’s negligence is similar to the work I did as a prosecutor,” says Michael. “Even though I represented the People as a deputy county attorney, my goal was to achieve justice for victims who were affected by a bad event. My work gives me the chance to represent injured plaintiffs, to achieve justice for them, for the injuries they innocently have to bear, and for the pain and suffering they have to live with, often for the rest of their lives.”
A native of Tucson, Michael began studying theatre arts at the University of Arizona before switching to the Business College. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Finance in 2001. He was awarded a Juris Doctor, also from the University of Arizona, in 2004. Michael is a proud father, and an avid hiker and golfer in his spare time.
