Attorney Michael D. Leffler is a graduate of Marquette University (B.S. 1985) and Marquette University Law School (J.D. 1988). In law school, he was awarded the Grace Holznecht Scholarship in recognition of outstanding achievement. He was involved in student government and had the honor of representing his class as he worked closely with students, administrators, and professors.
After law school, he started his career with a well respected insurance defense firm in Racine. He soon recognized his preference was for helping the injured, not fighting them. He took a position as an associate at Daniel P. Kondos Law Offices, a personal injury law firm in Milwaukee. After a decade serving the personally injured, he co-founded Action Law Offices, S.C. with Attorney Steven C. Gabert in 1999.
He has served on the Board of Directors for the Marquette University Club of Milwaukee and on the Board of Directors for the LAO Family Community Center in Milwaukee where he also served as interim Chairman of the Board. He has lectured extensively to high school students and community organizations on the various aspects of the law. Attorney Leffler is currently a member of The Wisconsin State Bar Association, the Milwaukee Bar Association and Racine Bar Association. He has served on the mediation committee of the Milwaukee Bar Association. He is currently the President of the Racine Bar Association and formerly served as a member of the Board of Governors. He is a member of the American Association for Justice, formerly known as the American Trial Lawyers Association. He is also a member of the Wisconsin Association of Justice. He has been admitted to practice law in all courts in Wisconsin, including the Eastern and Western Federal District Courts.
Attorney Leffler has concentrated his practice on the representation of the personally injured. He has fought for injured people's rights for nearly his entire career. Most of his cases have settled without the need of a trial. Although the goal is to settle cases out of court, he has successfully tried or arbitrated hundreds of cases.
