Monique Centeno joined the Patterson Legal Group team in 2021. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team. Prior to joining the firm, Monique was a District Court Judge in the 18th Judicial District of Kansas. She presided over trials, issued thoughtful rulings and was known for having a compassionate ear for all litigants. Prior to serving on the bench, Monique was a trial attorney at Wall Huntington Trial Law. She represented individuals and families that were harmed in medical malpractice cases, wrongful death cases, race and gender discrimination, bus collisions, auto accidents, homeowner negligence and many others.
In 2005, Monique graduated from Washburn University School of Law. While in law school, she learned that trial advocacy was her “calling”. She mastered the art of persuasion and thinking quickly on her feet. She was a natural advocate. After graduation, she used those skills by representing clients facing high level felonies, termination of parental rights, and consumer protection cases.
When the office doors close, Monique’s greatest joy is volunteering in her community. She is a Commissioner on the State of Kansas’ Commission on Racial Equity and Justice. She mentors high school students, college students and law school students. She regularly distributes free food to people in need through Common Ground (a mobile farmer’s market) and Salvation Army.
