Phillip was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. Phillip has a passion for helping others and decided to be an attorney to be an advocate for injured individuals. After college, Phillip attended South Texas College of Law Houston. During law school, Phillip was a Student Ambassador, Vice President of the Criminal Law Society, and a member of the Hispanic Law Students Association and Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. In addition to his studies, Phillip worked as a law clerk at several personal injury, general civil litigation, probate litigation, and estate planning law firms.
Following graduation, Phillip was a Briefing Attorney with the Honorable Michael B. Newman of Harris County Probate Court No. 2 in Houston, Texas. After his time with the court, he worked as a Contract Attorney for a family law and civil litigation firm handling divorce, custody, and general civil litigation claims.
Phillip relocated to North Carolina in 2022, and began his career with the Kellum Law Firm. Phillip practices in the areas of personal injury and workers’ compensation. He is licensed to practice law in both North Carolina and Texas. He is a member of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, the NCAJ Hispanic/Latino Legal Issues Division, Young Lawyers Division of the North Carolina Bar Association, and the Texas Young Lawyers Association.
He is the first lawyer in his family, and is extremely proud of his opportunity to be an advocate for others going through difficult times. Phillip hopes to continue to build on his negotiation abilities and work zealously to maximize the value of his client’s cases.
