Rachel received her undergraduate degrees in Political Science and International Relations from Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, MI. While attending university, she completed a variety of non-profit internships, including one in Washington, DC, and spent a year studying abroad in the United Kingdom. After graduation, she returned to the metro Detroit area and began working at a local criminal defense firm before attending law school.
Rachel received her JD from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 2019, where she graduated cum laude and was the recipient of the Voice for Justice Public Interest Fellowship. She was also one of the first students to earn a concentration in family law. During law school, Rachel worked as an intern and later as a student staff attorney for the Salvation Army’s William Booth Legal Aid Clinic in Detroit.
