Bobby Waltman is a trial attorney at The Law Offices of Ted B. Wacker who focuses exclusively on representing individuals who have been injured due to negligence. He has tried 35 jury trials to verdict, with recent plaintiff victories in both San Diego and Los Angeles. Mr. Waltman handles serious personal injury cases involving motor vehicle collisions, premises liability, dog bites, traumatic brain injuries, medical malpractice, and wrongful death.Â
Throughout his career, Mr. Waltman has worked extensively with medical experts, including neurologists, orthopedic spine surgeons, and other specialists, developing a deep working knowledge of the science underlying complex injury cases. He prepares every case as if it will go to trial, which strengthens his position in negotiation and mediation. A former mediator at the Riverside Courthouse, he understands both sides of the negotiation process and uses that insight to maximize recovery for his clients.
Mr. Waltman previously served as a Deputy Public Defender in Orange County, where he handled both criminal and dependency matters, advocating for clients in high-stakes proceedings. He was also a founding board member of H.I.R.E., a nonprofit organization dedicated to reintegration and employment opportunities for formerly incarcerated individuals.
He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, graduating with Distinction in the Major, and his Juris Doctor from Chapman University’s Fowler School of Law on a full merit scholarship. While in law school, he served as Social Justice Chair of the Public Interest Law Foundation. He occasionally returns to Chapman as a guest lecturer on litigation and trial advocacy.
Mr. Waltman has been recognized as a CAALA Leadership Fellow, named to The National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40, and, more recently, selected to The National Trial Lawyers Top 100.
A Southern California native, Mr. Waltman speaks three languages and enjoys traveling abroad. Outside the courtroom, he has performed in musical groups for more than 20 years and continues to play guitar, bass, and keyboards in his free time.
