
Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Shaefer received his Bachelor of Science degree in Financial Mathematics from Catawba College in Salisbury, NC. While pursuing his degree, Shaefer played baseball for the Catawba Indians, leading his team to three South Atlantic Conference Championships, two Southeast Regional Championships, and one Division II College World Series. After graduating from Catawba College, Shaefer pursued his master's degree in Higher Education from the University of Georgia. While at Georgia, Shaefer played baseball for the Georgia Bulldogs. Before completing his degree, Shaefer had a passion for practicing law. In 2018, Shaefer pursued his Juris Doctor degree from North Carolina Central University School of Law. While at Central, Shaefer devoted himself to trial advocacy, served on the Trial Advocacy Board, and competed in numerous trial competitions. Shaefer participated in numerous interschool and intraschool competitions. Shaefer also served as the Student Bar Association Class Representative.
