
Shannon L. Dechent-Montenegro has been with Pasternack Tilker Ziegler Stanton Walsh & Romano, LLP since May of 2018, and began practicing as an Associate Attorney in the Municipal Pension Department handling all facets of civil-service disability pensions with New York City and New York State in April of 2021.
She began practicing in the Social Security Department in early 2022 and handles denials for SSDI and SSI as well as Appeals Council and Federal Court remands.
Mrs. Dechent-Montenegro also stepped into the realm of Worker’s Compensation claims and has used her experience to assist clients in receiving the highest possible value for their claims. Â
She received a scholarship to attend The Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center at Touro College in New York, where she earned her Juris Doctorate Degree in 2019. She was a part of the Honors Program and received CALI-Excellence for the Future Awards in Interviewing, Negotiating & Counseling and Legal Process I. She was an active member of the Federalist Law Society throughout her time at Touro and assisted the low-income elderly of Suffolk County while participating in Touro Law Center’s Senior Citizens’ Law Program. Mrs. Dechent-Montenegro also interned at the Suffolk County Courts and at a top Suffolk County Corporate Firm during her time at Touro.
While completing her undergrad studies in 2016, she opened an e-commerce retail website where she expanded successfully within the U.S. and internationally, gaining valuable client satisfaction and communication skills. She looks forward to continuing to grow professionally with the esteemed professionals at Pasternack Tilker Ziegler Walsh Stanton & Romano, LLP.
