Attorney / Lobbyist / Owner
Steven Scharboneau is a founder and owner of Steven George Law, PLLC where he practices as a criminal defense attorney and a lobbyist at the Arizona Capitol. As a criminal defense attorney, he represents clients through some of the toughest moments in their lives by passionately protecting their individual rights from government intrusion. As a lobbyist, Steven works with Arizona’s top leaders in an effort to prevent excessive prosecution and unduly harsh penalties.
The victories in his legal and legislative work have not gone unrecognized. Recently, Steven was recognized by Arizona Capitol Times as a 2024 Leader of the Year in Public Policy. Steven has also been recognized as Top Lawyer by Phoenix Magazine, a Rising Star by Southwest Super Lawyers, One of Arizona’s Top 10 Lawyers by the National Academy of Criminal Defense Attorneys, and Top 40 Under 40 by The National Trial Lawyers Association.
The Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice have awarded Steven with the Presidential Commendation on three separate occasions. In 2019, he received the award for his work drafting and passing the Arizona Mugshot Act, which he later used to take down the nation’s largest commercial company. In 2021 and 2023, he received the award again for passing several pieces of legislation that have reformed Arizona’s DUI laws and vehicular code.
Steven’s passion and drive to defend individual rights is what makes him stand out among other criminal defense attorneys. Beyond a fierce advocate, he is a dedicated family man, an Arizona native, and an active member of his community. When Steven is not fighting with the government, he enjoys mountain biking, hiking, and dirt bike riding with his daughter.
