Steve Weinberger is licensed to practice law in California and Arizona and uses his skill and expertise to litigate and try cases around the country. Steve has close to four decades of experience handling some of the most complex catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases. Steve’s early career included mentorship by some of the most successful Plaintiff trial attorneys in the country such as Michael Piuze, Leo Beus, and Ned Good. Steve currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Arizona Association for Justice, and is a member of the Membership Committee.
He holds the prestigious AV Preeminent Attorney Rating (Highest Possible Rating in Both Legal Ability & ethical Standards) from Martindale-Hubbell. He has decades of practice almost exclusively in the field of product liability, where he has represented both consumers and manufacturers. For several years, Steve represented Class 8 truck manufacturers in product liability crashworthiness litigation arising after serious tractor-trailer accidents. Steve and his partner have also litigated and tried product liability cases involving, among other things, automobiles, tires, electric and gas heaters, firearms and holsters, and gas and fluid valves.
Steve and his partner have litigated cases around the country against all the major truck and automobile manufacturers including Ford, Chrysler (FCA – including Jeep, Dodge, Plymouth), General Motors (including GMC, Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick), Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, Daimler Benz (DTNA, Freightliner Truck), PACCAR (Peterbilt, Kenworth), Ferrari SpA; tire defect litigation has included all the major manufacturers including Bridgestone/Firestone, BF Goodrich, Michelin, Cooper Tires, Sumitomo Rubber, Kelly Springfield, and others. Steve and his catastrophic injury and wrongful death group generally represented individuals and families who have suffered serious and often catastrophic injuries and losses such as the deaths of loved ones, or a personal loss such as the loss of limbs, brain damage, paraplegia, quadriplegia, or the loss of vision. Collectively, over the last seven decades, through representation by Steve, his partner Michael and their group have helped clients obtain verdicts and settlements in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
In addition to his substantial work as a California and Arizona trial attorney, Steve also held a corporate General Counsel position with a natural food products company and oversaw all aspects of regulatory compliance and litigation for them for more than five years. He has been a panel arbitrator for the Maricopa County Superior Courts for 15 years, and previously served as Chair of the In-House Counsel Committee for the State Bar of Arizona.
