Tammy Stewart is a Colorado Native and has 32 years experience as an Attorney. She graduated with a B.A. degree from the University of Colorado in 1986. She obtained her Juris Doctorate, Law, Degree from the University of Colorado School of Law in 1989.
Tammy practiced as a Public Defender in CA until 1996. She moved back to Colorado and was a Prosecutor from 1996 to 2007, She specialized in prosecuting crimes against children as a Deputy District Attorney.
She has been in private practice in Steamboat Springs, Colorado since 2007. In her private practice she has handled Family Law cases, Criminal Defense, Juvenile law including experience as a Guardian ad Litem, Child Legal Representative, Assistant County Attorney and Respondent Parent Counsel. She has also been a mediator for the Colorado Office of Dispute resolution since 2010 and has experience as a Mediator since 2007.
Tammy has won the Heroes Award from the Jefferson County Children's Advocacy Center for three years in a row. She has won the NWCLS McBride Award as Pro Bono Attorney of the Year. She has won certificates for several years in a row for her Pro Bono work. She ran for District Attorney in the 14th Judicial District in 2008. She has been selected twice as a District Court Judge finalist and interviewed with two Governors.
