She graduated from the University of California Berkeley with an undergraduate degree in Molecular Plant Biology. She worked several years for the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratories and the University of California, Berkeley managing a stable isotope earth science laboratory and conducting research on global change and its effects on soil and plant science.
She earned her law degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. She began her career as a plaintiff-side civil litigator. She eventually started her own firm in addition to consulting with other personal injury firms on litigation matters. Before joining the firm, she spent a handful of years in public interest law managing a civil litigation team for a San Francisco-based legal aid organization.
She has studied dance and music most of her life and loves attending live music performances and playing music with her husband and friends. She published a book on music law, which is a primer on music law, publishing, and business for musicians. Before coming to the world of litigation, she toured with many widely known musicians as a manager and consulting attorney.
Outside of the office, Tara enjoys traveling and outdoor activities.
Tara is a member of the California Bar Association, American Bar Association, San Francisco Bar Association, United states District court for the Northern District of California, United States District Court for the Eastern District of California, and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California.
