Tyler Brandon O’Leary Selcer grew up in Golden, Colorado and attended the University of Colorado at Boulder for his undergraduate degrees. During his time in Boulder, Tyler earned three bachelor’s degrees including degrees in International Affairs, Spanish Literature and Political Science. Additionally, Tyler was a Lead Facilitator in the University of Colorado Restorative Justice Program, where he worked with university staff and students in order to address student legal violations through reconciliation with victims and the community at large.
Following his time in Boulder, Tyler was admitted to the Sturm College of Law at the University of Denver. Tyler focused on Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Trial Practice and Constitutional Law while earning his Juris Doctorate.
Tyler began working at the Law Office of Jacob E. Martinez in the Spring of 2015 as a Law Clerk. During his time clerking, Tyler was able to gain valuable experience doing legal research, communicating with clients and preparing motions, briefs and other dispositive pleadings.
While attending DU and working with Mr. Martinez, Tyler also worked in the chambers of the Honorable Judge Meissner-Cutler in the 18th Judicial District. This afforded him the opportunity to draft orders in several cases and further his legal research abilities.
After law school, Tyler moved to Savannah, Georgia and became a licensed attorney in South Carolina. While working in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, Tyler diversified his legal skill set and was able to assist clients in residential and commercial real estate transactions, probate matters, debt mitigation/negotiation and preparing estate plans.
Tyler is dedicated to his clients and takes pride in standing up for people in need. He is passionate about advocating for those facing criminal charges as he recognizes the impact that those charges can have. He takes the time to listen to his clients and discuss the different potential strategies to be used in each case.
