Valerie grew up in Dothan, Alabama and obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. ?During her undergraduate studies, Valerie became interested in the study and practice of law, and the art of trial advocacy. ?She spent many hours in a courtroom practicing her love of trial work. ?Valerie served as captain of her undergraduate mock trial team and lead the team to win bids to attend and compete in two National Trial Competitions, where she earned 'Best Attorney' awards at both the Regional and National levels. Valerie went on to attend the Charlotte School of Law, where she continued to hone her trial skills in serving as President of the school's Trial Advocacy Board, and continued to compete in trial competitions across the country. ?In her professional life, Valerie's litigation experience and skills have lead to recognition by prominent organizations in the legal community.
Valerie lives in the University area of Charlotte. ?In her free time, she enjoys drawing, running, working in the yard, knitting, and spending time with her three beautiful daughters. She also enjoys getting involved with her local community, including coaching a local middle school Mock Trial team, and giving softball pitching lessons.
She is a highly motivated, resourceful and creative attorney who will work with you to develop a case strategy that fits your individual needs and goals. Her approach to the practice of law is to define the problem, and find a solution. Through her experiences in the courtroom, she has developed the ability to evaluate a situation and react quickly, appropriately and zealously on her client?s behalf.
Valerie's years of hard work in the courtroom have paid off tremendously as evidenced by her positive results at trial, and as recognized by prestigious organizations across the country. ?In 2014, Valerie was selected by the National Trial Lawyers Association for membership as one of the 2014 Top 100 Trial Lawyers, and was recognized by the Global Directory of Who's Who among Women Attorneys. She was also recently recognized as one of NC's top 10 in Criminal Defense Client Satisfaction by the American Institute of Criminal Defense Law Attorneys .
