Attorney Vernon Brownlee joined Sanabria & Associates as a member of the criminal defense department. Prior to joining Sanabria & Associates, Vernon served as an Assistant State’s Attorney (ASA) for Prince George’s County, Maryland where he managed large volume dockets, misdemeanor criminal cases, and select high-profile felony cases.
At the start of his career, Vernon served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Beverly J. Woodard of Prince George’s County Circuit Court. Learning from the senior legal officials before him, Vernon used this opportunity to study and examine various cases and courtroom proceedings and learn the art of arguing motions.
While attending law school, Vernon served as the Director of Academic Affairs of the Black Law Students Association where he was responsible for developing end-of-semester review sessions for first-year law students. He was also selected as a teacher’s assistant for Contracts I and II, where he instantly discovered a passion for teaching and mentoring.
Today, Vernon serves as an adjunct professor at Bowie State University where he teaches Trial Advocacy and Multiculturalism Issues in The Criminal Justice System.
Vernon is a member of the J. Franklin Bourne Association. As a Maryland native, he enjoys all things Washington, D.C. sports and is an avid Washington Football Club fan. On weekends, you may find Vernon judging local high school and college mock trial competitions, cycling, or playing slow-pitch softball with organized teams.
Vernon is admitted to practice law in the State of Maryland.
