From a young age, William Mattar's passion for the law was ignited by the inspiring work of his father, a respected attorney in Western New York. Witnessing firsthand the profound impact his father had on people's lives fueled William's determination to follow in his footsteps.
Expressing his ambition early on, William shared his aspirations with his father during his high school years. Upon entering college, he resolved to turn his lifelong dream into reality.
FOUNDING A LEGACY
Born and raised in Amherst, New York, William embarked on his academic journey, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh (SUNY Plattsburgh) in 1986. Continuing his pursuit of legal expertise, he obtained his Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law in 1988.
Following a brief stint practicing law with another firm, he seized the opportunity to establish his own practice. In 1990, he founded William Mattar Law Offices in Williamsville, New York, initially handling a diverse range of legal matters.
Today, as the largest motor vehicle accident firm in New York State, William Mattar Law Offices has honed its focus on motor vehicle accidents and has flourished into a prominent establishment with a principal office in Williamsville and servicing all of New York state.
DEDICATED TO SERVICE
In his professional endeavors, William prioritizes aiding others by securing optimal outcomes for his clients efficiently. Yet, beyond the confines of his office, his commitment to assisting those in need persists. Alongside his firm, he champions numerous charitable causes.
A steadfast Eagle Scout and former Boy Scouts of America Greater Niagara Frontier Council troop leader, William has long been entrenched in community service. For over 20 years, he spearheaded the Boy Scouts' largest fundraiser in WNY as chairman, generating vital funds to benefit over 10,000 youth. Active in his church, he has also held leadership roles in various organizations such as WPO as a Chapter Chair, YPO as an Education Chair, and Williamsville Preservation Foundation’s President. William's dedication to service extends far and wide. He has established a Community Service Committee at the firm, which grants donations and sponsorships to numerous organizations across the state. He has also created many safety and community campaigns such as Rescue a Shelter Animal, Safe Ride Home 4 the Holidays, Distracted Driving Awareness presentation for high schools, and has donated over 2 million pencils through the Pencils 4 Schools program.
When not engaged in philanthropic pursuits and volunteering his time to vital community organizations, William relishes quality time with his wife and children, indulging in cooking, hiking, and active outdoor sporting pursuits.
Sharing his passion for scouting, he mentored his children, who, like him, have achieved the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout. He is proud of them working with the team at the firm, to continue the Mattar legacy of helping people.
