Virginia Criminal & Traffic Defense Attorney

William W. Stanton VII is a Virginia criminal defense and traffic attorney known for his assertive advocacy and strategic representation across the Commonwealth. As the founder of Stanton Law, he is respected for his thorough preparation, courtroom skill, and commitment to protecting each client’s rights and freedom.

Before starting his firm, Mr. Stanton served for more than ten years as a criminal prosecutor in Virginia. His time in that role provided extensive trial experience and a clear understanding of how prosecutors build cases. He now applies that knowledge to identify weaknesses and develop effective defense strategies for his clients.

A native of Richmond, Mr. Stanton graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Richmond’s Jepson School of Leadership Studies, ranking second in his class. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Richmond School of Law, where he was a John Marshall Scholar, served on Law Review, and was inducted into both the Order of the Coif and McNeil Law Society. He also received recognition for Advanced Trial Practice.

At Stanton Law, Mr. Stanton represents clients in Circuit, General District, and Juvenile and Domestic Relations Courts throughout Virginia. His practice includes:

  • Reckless driving and speeding violations
  • DUI and DWI defense
  • Drug and theft charges
  • Assault and violent crimes
  • Firearms and weapon offenses
  • Cyber and internet-related crimes

If you are facing criminal or traffic charges anywhere in Virginia, from Richmond to Loudoun County, Stanton Law’s William W. Stanton VII is the advocate you can trust to protect your rights, your record, and your future.
