A now 18-year-old woman injured when she was struck by a vehicle in East Brunswick nearly five years ago has settled her civil lawsuit against the driver and the car’s owner for $2 million, her attorney said.
Melanie Morales was 14 when she was she was sitting on a curb on Prigmore Street with two friends after school on May 25, 2018, according to one of her attorneys — Michael Heck of Epstein Ostrove.
The driver of the vehicle which hit Morales was traveling on Arthur Street when she turned right onto Prigmore Street, Heck said. The rear passenger wheel then hit a curb and when the driver tried to overcorrect, the car veered across the road and struck Morales, the attorney said.
