Chicago – November 2015 – A high school baseball and football coach at Libertyville High School is suing the driver of a car that caused him severe injuries in July 2015.

Represented by Eugene K. Hollander of The Law Offices of Eugene K. Hollander, plaintiff James Schurr, aged 50 and residing in Libertyville, was injured when he was driving southbound on Skokie Road near the intersection of Central Street in Wilmette, Cook County, on July 18th 2015. Schurr had to have spinal fusion surgery due to his injuries and has been unable to return to his work as a high school coach since. Schurr is requesting damages in excess of $50,000 to fairly compensate him for lost wages, medical expenses, damage to property, and physical and emotional trauma.

The lawsuit states that Askounis is guilty of countless careless and negligent acts or omissions, including failing to use proper lane usage and driving the vehicle at an excessive and dangerous speed.
