Endo International, the parent company of American Medical Systems (AMS), agreed in May 2014 to an $830 million settlement of lawsuits over its transvaginal mesh products. Approximately 20,000 women victims had experienced extreme pain, mesh erosion, abdominal pain, mesh protrusion, and pelvic pain due to product defects.
"The average settlement value of the AMS mesh cases is only $40,000. However women with serious injuries are receiving settlement amounts north of $250,000. Our new program will enable us to help these victims at reduced rates. This coincides with our consistent pre-settlement cash advances for clients who have not received a mesh settlement letter yet, which we continue to fund every day," said Patty Kirby, Head of Client Relations.
