A Marion County jury has ruled that Tesla and Kyle Kaszuba, one of Tesla’s employees, are required to pay more than $60.6 million in damages. This is in relation to an April 2017 accident on the west side of Indianapolis that left a man with brain injuries.

According to a news release from Trial Lawyers for Justice, a jury returned a verdict of $60,687,491 against Tesla and Kaszuba for “negligently broadsiding a motorcyclist named Chris Dugan” in April 2017.

On April 25, 2017, a motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash near a Speedway gas station on Rockville Road. Investigators said at the time that the motorcyclist pulled out of the Speedway parking lot and was heading westbound when a truck going eastbound turned into its path.
