Attorney Benny Agosto, Jr., a partner at the Houston law firm of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Aziz, has been recognized as one of the Top Latino Lawyers in the U.S. for 2016 by Latino Leaders Magazine.

Mr. Agosto was also honored by the Magazine in 2011 and 2012 as one of the 101 Most Influential Leaders and in 2015 as one of the 25 Most Influential Hispanic Lawyers.

Latino Leaders Magazine is a prestigious publication in the Hispanic business and professional market that profiles interviews and articles about successful leaders in the country. This marks the second consecutive year for the Magazine to publish the Top Latino Lawyers in the U.S. Selection to this list is based on extensive research gathered by the selection committee and nominations from lawyers and firms. Attorneys selected to the list have demonstrated that they have great influence and expertise in working legal cases.

Over the course of Mr. Agosto’s legal career, he has represented hundreds of individuals who have been seriously injured or families who have lost loved ones due to negligence. He has been practicing law since 1995 and is board certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. His community and professional service has been recognized by a variety of organizations, including the State Bar of Texas, Houston Bar Association, Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, National Association of Distinguished Counsel, South Texas College of Law Houston, and Houston Baptist University. He is also consistently recognized in annual publications, such as Best Lawyers in America® and Texas Super Lawyers Magazine, and in the annual top lawyers issue of Houstonia magazine.

Mr. Agosto also has a long record of service to the Hispanic community. He was President of the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) and is the Co-Founder and President of the Legal Education Fund of the HNBA. The Legal Education Fund promotes programs that help underrepresented students and legal professionals pursue opportunities in the legal profession. He is also the President and Founder of the Mexican American Bar Association of Texas (MABATx) Foundation, which was created to support Houston area Hispanic law students through scholarship programs. The Foundation has raised over $275,000 for scholarships extended to Hispanic law students since it was established.
